Peter Hall brings a background of diverse experience centred on
the common theme of project planning and implementation.
During over twenty years in senior pubic sector management, Peter
Hall was responsible for projects ranging from evaluation of major
government policy and service delivery initiatives to the design
and installation of large scale technological applications. Peter
has added to that breadth of experience as a project manager, with
numerous major consulting assignments for institutions such as the
World Bank, United Nations Development Program, several national
governments and many high profile organisations, both public and
private, throughout Australia.
Peter currently divides his time between training and consulting
in project management. He is a highly sought-after consultant, specialising
in project planning, in the design of project management and co-ordination
systems and in the application of software packages to these areas.
Some of the major projects in which Peter has been engaged in the
last few years include:
Evaluation of Project Implementation
Ministry of Social Affairs, Indonesia (UNDP
Project).
Appraisal of project execution and control mechanisms for a project
to establish an information database on social disadvantage and
to train 4,000 data collectors from 2,000 Indonesian villages.
Project Planning
Wambo Mining Corporation.
Assisted senior engineering management group in the planning of
time critical moves of several thousand tons and several hundred
pieces of underground (longwall) mining equipment.
Project Management and Co-ordination System
Design
NSW Agriculture.
Assisted computer projects staff to design and establish an MS
Project-based system for co-ordinating up to 50 staff across up
to 100 projects.
Institutional Strengthening Project Design
Papua New Guinea Department of Education
(AusAID).
As part of a major reform of PNG education, to analyse the needs
of central planning staff. Involves a three year program of staff
training, development of national planning procedures and establishment
of supporting database and other computer systems.
Project Audit
BHP Mining (Cordeaux).
Review of plans and control mechanisms for 3-year program of mine
development. Before joining Numerix, Peter was Assistant Director of Management
Information Services, NSW Department of School Education. In this
role, he was responsible for all systems developed on one of Australia's
largest IBM mid-range computer networks and associated PC/Novell
LANs on multiple sites.
